Alix Malka was born in the south of France. As a young stage opera singer, he was struck by the magic of the visual arts that grew into a passion for fashion and film. He graduated with a fine art degree in Aix en Provence and completed Fashion Design at Esmod, Paris.

He worked for many years as art director beside iconic designer Thierry Mugler creating all aspects of a haute couture house, especially creating worldwide mega fashion shows (concept, scenography, sets, lighting, casting, soundtrack, video directing, etc...)

His unique background in fashion and runway show production has led him to collaborate with various television programs in Paris and U.S. broadcasts such as, The U.S. prime-time broadcast on VH1 for the “Vogue Fashion and Music Awards” as well as ABC’s prime-time “Vogue Haute Couture Live from Paris,” a collaboration with Anna Wintour. hosted by André Leon Talley. This program featured exclusively Paris Couture designers like Karl Lagerfeld, Alexander McQueen, Jean Paul Gaultier, Valentino… and interviews of George Lucas, Madonna, and Tom Ford, among others.

His avant-guard vision reached new heights when he took on the artistic direction of the famous George Michael music video “Too Funky,” directed by Thierry Mugler.

Alix brought his creative vision to Thierry Mugler, revolutionizing the perfume industry through the distinctiveness of “Angel.” Launched in 1992, it remains one of the most iconic and successful fragrances in history to this day.

He played an integral part in the House of Mugler, directing the brand and collaborating with numerous photography masters such as Helmet Newton and Richard Avedon. These inspirational collaborations played a pivotal role in fulfilling Alix’s dream of becoming a photographer and director.

In 2002, he moved to New York and started his fashion photography career, quickly becoming involved with countless prestigious fashion magazines. including Vogue, Vanity Fair, Harper's Bazaar, GQ, Rolling Stone, Numero, The Face, I.D…

Alix has shot a number of high-profile fashion campaigns, such as Jean-Paul Gaultier, Lanvin, Nina Ricci, Barneyʼs, Harry Winston, Bloomingdales, Neiman Marcus, Guess, Uniqlo, H&M and Nike.

He is well known for his beauty images. His aesthetic and sense of detail have allowed him to work worldwide with clients such as M.A.C. Cosmetics, Helena Rubenstein, Maybelline, L’Oréal and Pantene. Additionally, he has shot fragrance campaigns, including Guess Seductive, Byblos and Areva.

Alix has built a comprehensive list of celebrities over the years, including Isabelle Huppert, Elle Fanning, Kim Kardashian, Adam Levine, Amber Valetta, Ashton Kutcher, Bella Heathcote, Celine Dion, Chloe Moretz, Christian Louboutin, Christina Aguilera, Isabelle Adjani, Cindy Crawford, Eva Herzigova, Béatrice Dalle, Jean Paul Gaultier, Lindsey Lohan, Pierre Niney, Mariah Carey, Milla Jovovich, Monica Bellucci, Sharon Stone, Sophia Loren, Laetitia Casta, David Guetta, Noémie Merlant, Courtney Love, Jared Leto and Irina Shayk...

His first exhibition was “In Fashion Photo/Art Basel” followed by an exhibition at Soho Gallery, New York. 

Alix’s photography has been featured in various international museum exhibitions and publications such as “The Fashion World of Jean-Paul Gaultier: from the sidewalk to the catwalk.” 

He also contributed to Thierry Mugler's worldwide museum exhibition and publication "Thierry Mugler, Couturissime" featuring artworks of Kim Kardashian and Irina Shayk.

He has directed commercials for such clients as Guess, David Guetta, Thierry Mugler perfume and Areva perfumes.
